1st retightening

well I've had my first retightening on May 1st! it took to approx 2 1/2 hours. My Consultant said my hair is doing well. I didnt have any slippage out of the normal she said, In my case it was the first back row. I know that area is going to be my stubborn area because the hair is a Little softer there. Im excited about the progress my hair has made thus fair.........Its definitely beginning to grow and the 1/2 inch of perm I started with.......is almost gone..... its only in a few spot. Here are a few of my 1st mth pic after the 1st retightening.

1 mth lock Anniversary

Wow....... it has been one mth since being Sisterlocked! I am loving my hair more and more each day!Im sure we all can agree with this statement.............."what took me so long to learn about this "Man the time spent in the hair dresser's chair.....cramped rears and the sore necks . I wont miss that pain..LOL!So far the feedback Im getting is positive....your braids fit you they say... and I just laugh to myself! Im still working on my mom...she just can get past the time it took for the installation 12hrs was a bit much for her. My dad even asked was I getting a new head..haha!

I explained to my mom that it was a one time thing...:) and after the install, the retightening process requires less time. She now wears a natural style, i bet after my hair matures into the beauty its going to be... she'll be asking me ....How can I get my hair like that :) and I'll say a 12hr installation process...:). I am so carefree with my hair now and that's a plus with having a toddler boy...geeshhhhhhhh he keeps me going! No more getting up an extra 1/2 hr just to style my hair in the morning...spritz with a little water and go! I workout at the gym at least 5 days a week so i have being able to push myself a bit harder sweating in my hair with not a care in the world.........it a wonderful thing!

First Shampooing experience

Okay so its was time for my first shampoo experience!
After a long week at the gym ...free to sweat in my hair !
No worry...right.... " boy did I love that" no more going home to blow dry
my hair! Well I braided up my hair in several little sections and put my
Barrettes on to secure my ends. I grabs the Sisterlock Starter shampoo and
proceeded to massage the shampoo in my scalp. I pour it directly in my hand and massaged it in and down the braids...! next I rinsed and washed again.... After rinsing and rinsing....I was done! I let my hair air dry overnight so I would have the curly look. After taking out my braids I notice my scalp was chalky white in some spot like I had some sort of bad dandruff problem the ends of my hair had a dull..dry... fried looked. I guess after all that so called rinsing I was doing..... it was not enough for this shampoo, I have residue lurking :0 ! Now my head is itching like never before. I guess next time I will have to dilute the shampoo instead of using it directly from the bottle
(i'll will post pics of the dull effect of the shampoo.......rinse rinse and rinse again time 3)
By the way does it matter the temperture of the water when shampooing your locks?

The Journey Begins

Hello All, I am officially a part of the sisterlock community Yippie! My Journey Began March 21, 2008. It didn't seem like it would ever come.Especially after taken down my last set of Kinky twist...so you can only imagine..LOL!
I was ready to embrace the nappy side, but man is my hair
thick! After years and years of wearing Braids....Zillions and then
most recent Kinky Twist(which helped me get a feel for the kinky look)....I decided since I never wear my hair.....why not transition to sisterlocks!
I had by first glance at sisterlocks 3 yrs ago......, my son's Daycare
provider had them....... and the curiosity began! After that, I knew I wanted
them but wasn't aware that I didn't have to completely grow out
my permed ends...! So three years later I was referred to her Locition
Paulette of Locks4Life.I'm so glad I decide to go to Paulette. My
locking session was so relaxing.. my session took approx 12hrs
but didn't not seem so at all. Everyone in the shop was so friendly!!!
I felt welcomed and very comfortable ....I knew I was in good hands!
Thanks for stopping by,.....I look forward to charting my progress......feedback is always welcomed.

Well here are a few pics taking at my locking session and my 2nd day
locked, I must say I thought my hair was much shorter.
